Last Days of NS Mainline Operation on the Asheville District
On May7th, 2020 Norfolk Southern ran the last Eastbound through freight over the Asheville District and the Old Fort Loops. Since this is the prototype rail line that our layout is based on, I wanted to share a few highlights from the day with y'all. The daily Asheville to Bridgewater local (P87) will continue to run most week days in the early mornings, and usually consists of a few wood chip cars. With the exception of that train, the line is now silent. It's quite a change from the 20+ trains that used to traverse this line daily. Thanks for watching, Josh [Hebrews 12:1-2]
