Build a strong foundation first. Working on previous progressions consistently helped me much more than constantly attempting full 2s full holds. What worked best for me was: mastering earlier progressions (5-7s) introducing dropsets (e.g. full hold β†’ one leg hold) doing front lever raises 2. If your progress is very slow, it’s probably because of: skipping progressions poor form (Credit to β€ͺ@hunterstein_wk‬ for that one) Both of these applied to me at one point, and they slowed my progress down a lot. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SOME CONTEXT πŸ“– ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ I started calisthenics barely being able to do pull-ups and dips. Before this, I mainly trained for aesthetics with weights rather than strength. (around 1.5 years) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE JOURNEY πŸ“ˆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ My previous aesthetics training probably helped my early progress to some extent. I β€œunlocked” the front lever in around 2 months, but the form was not good. After that, I struggled badly with adding time to the hold. I spent a lot of time doing the wrong things because I didn’t realise I needed a stronger foundation first.
