Madlanga Commission | Traffic Police Chief Mashaba's testimony - Prof Kholofelo Rakubu weighs in

Gauteng Traffic Police Chief Inspector Samuel Mashaba has conceded that his relationship with alleged police informant Tumelo Nku was not solely work related. WhatsApp messages presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry reveal that Mashaba and Nku had financial dealings, borrowing and repaying large sums of money between 2them. Commission records place Nku at the scene of the Aeroton drug bust in southern Johannesburg on 9 July 2021, identifying him as the individual who tipped off law enforcement about a truck carrying approximately 715 kilograms of cocaine.
