🎶🇰🇭 Tropaing Peay (ត្រពាំងពាយ) – "The Wiped-Out Pond" | Performed on the Pei Bobos by Mr. Pong Pon Experience the beauty of Cambodian traditional music through Tropaing Peay (ត្រពាំងពាយ), a cherished Khmer melody whose title can be translated as "The Wiped-Out Pond." Rich in poetic imagery, this traditional piece reflects the expressive depth and timeless elegance of Cambodia's musical heritage. 🎼 In this performance, Mr. Pong Pon presents the melody on the Pei Bobos (ប៉ីបបុស), also known as the Pei Or (ប៉ីអ). Renowned for its vibrant, powerful, and expressive sound, this traditional Khmer double-reed wind instrument has long played an important role in Cambodia's ceremonial and wedding music traditions. 🙏 This performance is lovingly dedicated to Master Seng Norn, the grandfather and lifelong music teacher of Mr. Pong Pon. Now around 87 years of age, Master Seng Norn has devoted decades to preserving and passing on Cambodia's traditional musical heritage. Although he no longer teaches, his knowledge, artistry, and dedication continue to live on through his students and family.
