Well Dressing in Derbyshire Villages 1960s to 1980
8mm Amatuer footage of Well Dressing . This was essentially, a co-opted Christian tradition extending into the 20th century that adorned water wells with flowers usually in Spring time. Here we see wells adorned in the Derbyshire region. This dates from 1968 to 1980, and covers the dressed wells in the villages of Ashford, Stoney Middleton, Milton, And Eyam.
