The Cadillac Kings at St Harmonica's Blues Club on 30th October 2020 (Part 2)

Quite simply, one of the best bands around, firm favourites on the blues, r&b; rock n’ roll and swing dance scenes; we were honoured and delighted that they returned to the club. Since their last visit to St. Harmonica’s the Cadillac Kings have gone from strength to strength. Their 5th album “The Secret of my Success” ended up on so many playlists that it was voted one of the top 3 blues CDs of 2016 by the Independent Blues Broadcasters’ Association (alongside Kaz Hawkins and Joe Bonamassa). Throughout 2017 the cd continued to make inroads into US radio and to the astonishment of the band reached #1 in Cashbox Magazine’s Blues & Boogie Chart in September 2017, and stayed there for 4 weeks, holding off acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, John Primer, Coco Montoya, Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, Samantha Fish et al. The Cadillac Kings were the only UK act to figure in the chart during 2017. More recently their ‘Betty Lou’ You Tube video is on its way to 3 million hits! 2019 saw the band celebrating its 19th birthday with the present line-up including the multi-talented 'Professor’ Tim Penn (ex Kevin Coyne, Eclection, Gordon Smith Band) on piano, accordion and vocals, alongside brilliant guitarist Mal Barclay, singer/ harp-player/ slide player & songwriter Mike Thomas, and the top notch rhythm section of double bassist Paul Cuff and drummer Jason Reay. “Entertaining, authentic and infectious - The Cadillac Kings’ high energy R&B is enough to put a foaming head on a pint of real ale!” (Blues in Britain).
