In addition to buying tickets well in advance, by going directly to the rail companies and using their special ticket types, you can actually save yourself a small fortune. In this video I compare a walk-up fare and advanced purchasing using a railcard for two people travelling from Eridge to Lincoln. The difference is staggering with a saving of over £340!!!
