We Dumped the KLX300 ECU Maps — Ignition Map Revealed

The KLX300 loses power above 8000 RPM at full throttle. We pulled the factory ECU ignition map to find out why. 0:00 The Problem: KLX300 Top End Power Loss 1:19 Ross Olsen: ECU Map Dump from the Factory Calibration 1:52 What is Ignition Timing? At 100%: 24.75 degrees (retarded) KLX250 has 5 degrees more timing at the same conditions ~2 HP lost from ignition retard alone (on top of what big bore/exhaust/intake already costs) Big bore kit, exhaust, intake - none of it matters if the ECU is pulling 6 degrees at full throttle. I'm building a controller that fixes this. Sign up at https://planetklx2.com to follow the development and get early access. Ross Olsen decoded 20+ calibration tables from the KLX300 ECU.
