⭐ Super Mario 64 - Sonic Mushroom Blast: Legacy

''Notice: While this is technically a mirror for the SAGE 2025 download, this and the GameBanana release are newer than the SAGE 2025 release and feature content that was cut from that version due to time constraints. For best experience, use ParaLLEL or GlideN64 (the latter especially if you care about using the beta skin or wanna visit the Chao Clamor levels due to less z-fighting). Sonic Mushroom Blast: Legacy is an iteration of my total conversion mod Sonic Mushroom Blast that's based off my original 2023 vision for the mod back when it was meant to be an ambitious character hack of the vanilla game, rather than fully remixed SM64 levels, enemies, items, etc. The mod features 123 stars total, (1 star in BOB is unattainable due to Sonic's moveset). There are 4 bonus courses hidden in the castle (the two aforementioned Chao Clamor stages, Stardust Speedway, and Emerald Hill Zone as a post-credits bonus). The 2 wing cap stages have been replaced with stages from Sonic R where you race Metal Sonic and collect Sonic R coins. Since this is based off earlier builds of Mushroom Blast, the lighting engine and post-processing effects have been stripped back to their 2023 counterparts (no global illumination, no framebuffer effects), which behaves similarly to the lighting engine of SA1 (Lantern Engine). For SAGE 2026 I plan on giving this mod a 2.0 update which will add 2 more bonus stages as well as elemental shields to the game's sandbox. This is not to be confused for the "flagship" version of Mushroom Blast as that will get a dedicated release some years down the line. This is comparable to a multiplatform game getting a last-gen or portable system port (where the game is completely different from the main flagship HD version). Gameplay Tips: The settings menu is equally as unfinished as it was in the 2024 Aquatic Ruins demo, this menu will get finished *eventually*. Press B in the File Select to enter file deletion mode. Pressing B again will revert back to file selection mode. Press D-Pad Down while idle to switch between the 2024 model and the 2023 beta model for Mushroom Blast Sonic. Refer to signposts and NPCs in-game for further gameplay tips. And yes, I did bite the "Legacy" part from Rovert's hack Interstellar: Legacy.''
