The results of the first round of the legislative elections this Sunday, June 30, show Jordan Bardella's National Rally in a commanding lead, ahead of the New Popular Front alliance and the presidential coalition Ensemble. This creates an unprecedented situation in the history of the Fifth Republic. According to late-night estimates from the Ipsos and Ifop polling institutes, the National Rally is in first place with between 33.2% and 33.5% of the vote. It is ahead of the New Popular Front, which obtained between 28.1% and 28.5%, far ahead of Emmanuel Macron's camp, which is hovering between 21% and 22.1%. Far behind, the party of the Republican candidates, who refused an alliance with the National Rally, is polling at around 10%. Thus, three major blocs will face off in the run-up to the second round on July 7.
