Paul Harding High School 2001 Basketball Championship
When Paul Harding High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana won the Boy’s 2A State Basketball Championship in March, 2001, it was an outstanding accomplishment. Watching Harding play for the championship made people of a certain age harken back to the mid/late sixties when Central High School would appear on WKJG-TV, Channel 33 in a sectional or regional game. It was big stuff because Central was the school for basketball in Fort Wayne. How ironic it was that exactly 30 years after Central ceased operating as a high school, Paul Harding would win a state basketball championship and regenerate the same kind of pride so many people hold for Central High.
