Today we begin our first African safari in Tanzania with a visit to Arusha National Park, one of the most beautiful and underrated safari destinations near Mount Meru. This is Day 2 of our 9-day Tanzania trip, and it is also our very first safari experience in Africa. Arusha National Park is known for its lush montane forests, open landscapes, Momella Lakes, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, antelopes, buffaloes, monkeys, and excellent birdwatching opportunities. Since we visited during the breeding season, the park was full of bird activity, and we were hoping to see many special birds in their breeding plumage.
