Hyperboost Edge vs Evo SL: Brilliant, weird … and painful?!

The Adidas Hyperboost Edge might be one of the strangest running shoes I’ve tested. Over the last few weeks, I’ve run in it on long runs, easy runs, cold wet mornings and back-to-back against the legendary Adidas Evo SL to try to answer one question - 'What is this shoe actually for?' Because the Hyperboost Edge has: • a genuinely excellent midsole once broken in • a very firm, heavily engineered upper • great wet-weather grip • oddly slippery behaviour in dry conditions • no proper runners’ lacing • and a tendency to rub a little So is this a serious long-run shoe? A lifestyle shoe pretending to be a runner? Or something in between? In this video I compare the Hyperboost Edge directly against the Evo SL to figure out where it actually belongs in a running shoe rotation. As always, this channel buys every shoe we review ourselves, so these opinions are completely independent. Let me know in the comments: • Have you run in the Hyperboost Edge? • How did it perform in warm weather? • And are the pink laces on my Evo SLs fabulous … or a fashion disaster?
