Tromba d'água em praia do Pará assusta banhistas Ajuruteua, em Bragança

The natural phenomenon occurred in the late afternoon of January 2, 2020, in Ajurututeua, a beach in Pará that attracts tourists from inside and outside the state of Pará. The region is part of the northeast of Pará, and is a district of the municipality of Bragança. The wind, which occurred in a circular motion, usually occurs in oceans and large rivers. According to the INMET coordination, of the 2nd Meteorological District of Belém, what occurred was a waterspout. Waterspouts occur for a short period of time and, for the most part, are of low intensity in the coastal region. The wind can reach a speed of approximately 60 km, and as it occurs in a circular speed, it causes material damage, as happened on Ajuruteua beach, when umbrellas, glasses, bottles, etc. were thrown into the air. In other words, the damage is almost always material. According to the swimmers who were there, they were witness to the exact moment the waterspout formed, since, although the weather was cloudy, there had been no wind with circular movements just before. The Civil Defense of Bragança, through the press in Pará, stated that the event was a waterspout in formation. The recommendation is to always seek shelter when there is a combination of rain and strong winds in open areas. The images of the waterspout were collected on the internet, after being shown in various media outlets.
