How to paint a transparent watercolor flower (beginner-friendly)

If your watercolor flowers always end up looking flat or muddy, this one's for you — today I'm showing you how to paint a soft, glowing flower that feels almost transparent. I start with a light pencil sketch, then move into color, focusing the whole time on paper moisture control — how wet is too wet, and when to pull back. I mix soft pinks and lavenders, tilt the paper to let the pigment drift naturally, and dry the petals in stages so the colors stay clean instead of bleeding into each other. To finish, I add a few graphic black marker accents and some fine splatter for texture — small details that bring the whole piece to life.
