Chestnut Chat: The Art of Grafting
Grafting is an ancient art that can now be applied to the science of American chestnut restoration. Stephen Hoy, Penn State University Chestnut Orchard Manager and Hill Craddock, Robert. M. Davenport Professor of Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga share their grafting knowledge and experience, and some of their successes and failures. Their presentation includes the hows and whys of grafting as well as tools and techniques most appropriate for grafting chestnut trees.
