BMW E28 M5: LVL 6-2 Rear Strut Rebuild SLS Replacement Upgrade

This is a big episode for anyone with a self levelling system on either the E28 M5 or the E34 with self contained setup NOT tied into the braking system. This is a common performance upgrade, because let's face it, hydraulically actuated pogo sticks in the rear is not the best for handling. The main modification was the top hat of the strut. They're unlike any other setup, they're oversized to accomodate the spring. But with a ring roller, some 5mm x 25mm flat bar and a welder, you can transform the top hat into a serviceable E34 compatible spring setup. With SuperPro bush SPF2675K to replace the rotted out original. Yes you could refurbish the original or even find "new" ones, but my motto on this project has been "Future proof, or bust" because I want to drive this car, a lot.
