Seattle pimp who used 'extreme levels of violence' on sex workers sentenced on federal charges

A notorious Seattle pimp was sentenced in U.S. District Court Monday morning, bringing an end to the state and federal cases against him for what prosecutors describe as a sex trafficking enterprise in the western U.S. Winston Burt, 32, aka "Dice Capone," will serve a 15-year sentence on two federal felonies related to sex trafficking, followed by a term of 15 years of supervised federal release. At a sentencing hearing, Assistant United States Attorney Kate Crishman recounted the brutality of Burt's actions against the girls he forced to do sex work on Aurora Avenue in Seattle. "(Burt) acted as if they had no worth or dignity, but solely to make him money through their sex work," Crishman said. "He didn't think he would ever be held accountable. He was counting on the victims being too broken and vulnerable to report him to law enforcement." Prosecutors painted a picture of Burt as a pimp who lived a lavish lifestyle at the expense of the girls who worked in prostitution on the streets of Seattle. Burt forced the girls to get his name tattooed on their faces and set daily quotas for them. Burt's time as a pimp came to an end shortly after a dramatic shootout with an Uber driver in north Seattle.
