Well prepared, the two embark on their Istanbul beauty adventure. But once they get there, they realize they slightly underestimated the magnitude of the procedure. Booming Business with Appearances Istanbul has become one of the world's leading destinations, especially for hair transplants. If the authorities have their way, the industry is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. "Puls" visits one of Istanbul's most well-known clinics and experiences how social media and influencers are used to attract new clients. Daniela Lager speaks with sociologist Melike Şahinol about the social pressure that arises when more and more people undergo cosmetic surgery. Big Money, Big Risk? Even though the majority of procedures in Istanbul go well, complications can still arise. "Puls" meets Melda Ceker, a Swiss woman whose nose collapsed after an operation in Turkey. Istanbul-based cosmetic surgeon Derya Özçelik says demand is so high that illegal, unlicensed clinics are filling the gap. It's important to be careful.
