First week living in our abandoned Italian farmhouse
We officially left the Netherlands behind and moved into our abandoned farmhouse in Italy. 🇮🇹 With our two cats, our little dog Pinot, a wood stove for warmth and just enough electricity to get by, our new life in the hills of the Langhe has finally begun. This old farmhouse has been empty for years. There is still no comfort, no finished plan, and we are learning everything from scratch. But now we are really living here — facing cold mornings, clearing overgrown land, and starting the very first projects that will slowly turn this ruin into a home. These first weeks are about settling in, surviving the basics, and discovering what life in rural Italy truly looks like when the adventure is no longer a dream, but daily reality. In this video, you’ll see: 🔥 Finally heating and cooking with our wood stove ⚡ Living with limited electricity in an abandoned farmhouse 🌳 Cutting trees and preparing our own firewood 🧹 Cleaning, clearing and making the first spaces livable 🐾 Moving in with two cats and our dog Pinot 🇮🇹 The beauty and silence of the Langhe countryside We want to do as much as possible ourselves, learn every step of the way, and slowly build a life connected to nature, simplicity and the seasons. This is not a renovation we already master — it’s something we grow into. This video marks the true beginning of our new life in Italy. __ If you’re new here: we’re Nikky and Dylan, a sister and brother duo who left the Netherlands to start over in Italy. On this channel we share every step of our journey — the wins, the setbacks and everything in between — as we restore our abandoned farmhouse and document life in the Italian countryside. __ 💬 Question for you: Would you dare to move into an abandoned farmhouse with no renovation experience? 👉 Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn this forgotten house into a home, one project at a time. __ 🌍 Stay connected: Amazon wishlist: https://www.amazon.it/hz/wishlist/ls/...
