Who is God really? How can we know Him? What does the Bible say about His character, His name, and His works? In this teaching, we undertake an in-depth Bible study to answer one of the most important questions in all of Scripture: Who is God? The Bible doesn't begin by trying to prove God's existence; it begins by revealing Him: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals Himself through His Name, His character, His attributes, and His works. During this study, we analyze the meaning of the name Jehovah (YHWH) and the declaration "I AM WHO I AM" given to Moses in Exodus 3. We discover why this name reveals that God is the Eternal, the Self-Existent, the Immutable, and the all-sufficient God, and how Jesus Christ uses the same expression "I AM" to reveal His divinity (John 8:58). We also studied how God answers the question, "Who is God?" by revealing His nature: God is Love. God is Spirit. God is Light. God is a Consuming Fire. God is the eternal King. But the Bible teaches us who God is not only through His attributes but also through His works. Throughout Scripture, we see that He: ✔ Gives strength to the weary. ✔ Upholds the weak. ✔ Fights for His people. ✔ Heals. ✔ Forgives. ✔ Saves. ✔ Strengthens. ✔ Guides. ✔ Protects. ✔ Provides. ✔ Comforts. ✔ Gives wisdom. ✔ Gives peace. ✔ Gives life. ✔ Makes all things new. Finally, we discover that all this revelation reaches its fullness in Jesus Christ, who declared: "I am the Bread of Life." "I am the Light of the world." "I am the Good Shepherd." "I am the Resurrection and the Life." "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." "I am the true Vine." Jesus didn't just speak about the Father; He affirmed that whoever has seen Him has seen the Father (John 14:9). In Christ, we fully know who God is and behold His perfect character.
