Multiply Binomials FAST | FOIL Math Hack Explained (with Examples!)
In this video, we break down multiplying binomials using the FOIL method (First, Outer, Inner, Last). This math trick makes expanding binomials way easier! You’ll see examples, the box method, and even a mental math hack to speed things up. If you’ve ever been confused by FOIL or multiplying polynomials, this example video clears it up. When multiplying two polynomials, you need to multiply each term in the first polynomial with each term of the second polynomial, then add like terms. With binomials, we can use the acronym FOIL, which stands for: Firsts, Outers, Inners, and Lasts. Some people think of it as double distribute. I normally teach this lesson in the 1st quarter, and put these questions on warm-ups and spiral reviews. That way, the students have several months to get good at it before we tackle factoring. This video could work for #Algebra students who were absent, or in a flipped classroom.
