"How do we build mental resilience and hope in a time of instability and anxiety?" Rabbi Nir Efrati (R.A.M. at Yeshiva Mitzpe Jericho and the founder of a unique farm for girls) in a profound conversation about the meaning of the fracture and instability in our generation, and the connection to the Land of Israel and the Kingdom of the House of David. In the second episode of Points of Connection, we spoke with Rabbi Nir Efrati about one of the fascinating and painful phenomena of our generation: the youth who find themselves outside the frameworks, and what it teaches us all about the unstable reality in which we live. We spoke about the healing power of manual labor and connection to the land as an answer to a world of agreements and anxieties, about the profound concept of the "crown of lack" that characterizes the Kingdom of the House of David, and about the miraculous ability of the Jewish people to grow precisely from bereavement and post-trauma. And we stopped to ask the question that no one really wants to ask: When we meet a person in crisis, should our aspiration simply be to return them to being "normal," or is it through the space that opens up that a new level that we all need grows?
