Miles de nicaragüenses celebran "La Gritería", una tradición que une fe y cultura

San José, Dec 7 (EFE) - Thousands of Nicaraguans filled the streets of León, the colonial city located 90 kilometers northwest of Managua, on Saturday to celebrate "La Gritería," one of Nicaragua's most traditional and emblematic religious festivals, in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. The celebration was led by the bishop of the Diocese of León and Chinandega, Sócrates René Sándigo, and began at the main altar of the Royal and Insigne Cathedral Basilica of León with the traditional cry of "Who causes so much joy?" and the faithful responded immediately: "The Conception of Mary!"
