Our work developing the UK’s new fighter jet, Tempest, is continuing apace as we build on our heritage of developing next generation military aircraft. The Harrier jump jet is part of that proud history of technological innovation. Its vertical take-off and landing capabilities revolutionised military aviation and saw it win the famous 1969 Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic Air Race in the same year that it entered service with the RAF.
