The Misty Mountain (men's choir, a capella)

The Men's Choir of Union University performs an arrangement by Cody Curtis of "Misty Mountains" and "The Song of the Lonely Mountain" from "THE HOBBIT: An Unexpected Journey". Conducted by Dr. Chris Mathews on 4/26/13. Solo by Phillip Lundy. Far over the misty mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old, We must away ere break of day To find our long forgotten gold. The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night. The fire was red, it flaming spread, The trees like torches blazed with light. The bells were ringing in the dale, The men looked up with faces pale; The dragon's ire more fierce than fire Laid low their towers and houses frail. Some folk we never forget, Some kind we never forgive, Haven't seen the back of us yet, We'll fight as long as live. All eyes on the hidden door, To the lonely mountain borne, We'll ride on the gathering storm Till we get our long forgotten gold. The mountain smoked beneath the moon; The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom. They fled their hall to dying fall Beneath his feet, beneath the moon. Far over the misty mountains grim To dungeons deep and caverns dim, We must away, ere break of day To win our long lost gold from him. Copyright 2013
