Specializing in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico City & Europe The collective lancha service from Rio Dulce to Livingston in the Caribbean takes about an hour and a half. You can go to the boat terminal under the bridge OR arrange to have them pick you up. The cost is Q125 per person one way and Q200 round-trip. They go back and forth everyday at 9:30 am and 14:30 in the afternoon. It is a scenic ride with lots to see including a little bird nest island, a lilly pad heaven, palm-frond roofs and waterfront houses, hotels and restaurants. The trip down is worth the price of the ticket! We also "hop" over to Punta Gorda, Belize for a couple hours in order to renew our toursit visa in Guatemala. Unfortunately, we end up feeling a little taken advantage of but the place is beautiful and the people were happy and friendly. It also happened to be Valentine's Day!
