THEN & NOW: THE LAFD FIRE STATION 63 (VENICE) PART 2
The following is a look inside of old Fire Station 63 which serves the city of Venice. The LAFD station is located at 1930 Shell Avenue and is one of 106 fire stations serving the city of Los Angeles. This station, it must be noted, is NOT being replaced as part of Proposition F, but is an interesting structure that was constructed and opened in 1942. This station, along with others, was the subject of "Then & Now: The LAFD. The project won the Telly Award for Excellence in Documentary Film Production among many other honors and presentations including one to the Venice Historical Society in February 2009. This segment can be found on the DVD Task Force Stations Volume II.
