Starting with Natural Dyeing: How to find Easy and Foolproof Dyeplants in the wild?
Hello friends! Getting started with natural dyeing might seem a bit daunting. What plants are great starting points? Do you need a dye garden? Are there some easy plants that grow in abundance in suburban environments? Yes there are! And in this video I'm taking you on a little suburban backyard safari and showing you some easy recognisable dye plants to start your natural dyeing journey with. Important to do before you start foraging your own dyestuff is to check the foraging laws in your country. In Belgium everything that grows on public land on the side of the road is fair game. So if my experimentations with natural dyeing are inspirational to you, here are a couple of plants that might get you started: (I add the Latin name for you to easier look up the plant in your own language) Saint John's Wort (Hypericum Perforatum) Wild Carrot (Daucus Carota) Common Yarrow (Achilea Millefolium) Tansy (Tanacetum Vulgare) Goldenrod (Solidago sp.) Dock or Sorrel (Rumex sp.) Oak (Quercus) Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) Black Walnut (Juglans Nigra) Oh and because it is super useful information, here is Jenny Dean's blog: https://www.jennydean.co.uk/category/...
