Preparing and Seeding a Back Yard Putting Green
In this video I go through a process that any and all of you could go through to take your existing back yard grass and prepare and overseed it to start to manage a putting green. I am overseeding my existing green with bentgrass varieties 007 and Flagstick. These both perform well in turf trials in my area and were selected by Erin Hills in their fairway renovation (which I will never stop mentioning, ever). The seeding process is quite simple, scuff up the existing area, spread the seed, rake it in, top dress the area to get it smoother, and then water water water. The coming video will be the plan and how best to navigate the establishment phase for your green. Please like the video if you enjoyed it and leave a comment with any questions you might have.
