Venerable Vethathiri Maharishi was born in the year 1911 in Guduvancheri, a village near Chennai. At the age of 35, he realized the divine position as a self-explanation. Based on that, the life path he gave for the people of the world is Manavalakala. He wrote a book of 200 songs called 'World Peace' for world peace and published it in 1957. He started the World Community Service Association in 1958. A city called Arutperunjyothi Nagar was established by Vethathiri Maharishi in 1984 at the place where the Azhiyar reservoir is located on the Valparai hills near Pollachi city.
