Brief History: Gurdwara Manji Sahib, located in village Aloarkh near Bhawanigarh, is a holy place associated with Sikh history where the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, stayed for a day with his family and a group of 300 Sikhs when he was invited by the King of Assam in 1722 Sammat. According to historical information, at that time Diwan Todar Mal was a big landlord of this area. When he came to know that Guru Ji had come to his village, he came to visit with his family. When Todar Mal offered gold coins to Guru Ji as a gift, Guru Ji returned the coins and said, "We will seek great service from you in the future" and they continued on their journey. Years later, when the state of Sirhind imprisoned the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Gujri Ji, Diwan Todar Mal, who was working in a government job in Sirhind at that time, thought of selling his property and freeing Mata Gujri Ji and the sons. But before that, both the sons were martyred. After this, Diwan Todar Mal bought the most expensive place in the world and cremated the bodies of the younger sons. According to history, the price of that place was paid with gold coins. After the last rites, they brought the ashes of Mata Gujri Ji and both the Sahibzades to their village Aloark and buried them in the ground, where Gurdwara Manji Sahib is now adorned. Gurdwara Sahib President Gurdit Singh said that during the renovation of the Gurdwara in 1990, when the floor was broken, the ashes were found again, whose devotees had darshan for a month. Later, the ashes were put in a glass vessel and then placed under the ground. Now, the Thara Sahib is adorned on that place where the devotees bow down every day and ask for their wishes.
