Kuk Sool Kwan Hapkido Advanced Clothing Defense Techniques: Koh Geup Eue Bok Soo 1-10

This video demonstrates part of the joint lock curriculum for 1st dan in Kuk Sool Kwan, as taught under the Huh Mongil branch in California at Ancient Arts Dojang. To aid in study, this video contains both a full speed demonstration as well as a slow demonstration of most techniques for easier reproduction of the movements. Unlike the first two Eue Bok Soo (외복수) sets at yellow belt and green belt, this third set introduces ways to make use of the opponent's clothing in the defense, opening opportunities for locks, throws, and manipulations. Kuk Sool Kwan is a member kwan of the Korea Hapkido Federation. It was founded in 1962, one year after the founding of Kuk Sool Won in 1961. Both drew on material compiled during the Kuk Sool Hwe, which began in 1958. At the time, the founder of Kuk Sool Kwan, Grandmaster Kim Woo Tak, was a higher dan rank in hapkido than the founder of Kuk Sool Won, Suh In Hyuk, although Suh In Hyuk knew more kung fu (sibpalki). At the time of this video's production, Grandmaster Michael Dunchok was a 7th dan in the Kuk Sool Kwan and a 7th dan in the Korea Hapkido Federation.
