Nana Dimitriadi often reiterates in her interviews as well as in the private talks. Improvisation in the themes of popular melodies is a hobby for her, which in times of idleness and spiritual emission helps her to withdraw from the norms of classical music. This being a delight, aspiration and perhaps even a play, but as far as high professionals keep being high professionals even when at play, the audience has also taken quite seriously Nana Dimitriadi`s improvised repertory, promoting the author to issue this wonderful CD. Nana Dimitriadi`s talent takes its source from the mighty genetic energy of her family, for she has inherited a wonderful creative temperament and artistic charm from her mother Nadejda Kharadze(1912-1999), who was a renowned opera singer, and her father Odissey Dimitriadi (1908-2005) a well-known conductor. The professional musical education she acquired in the class of a famous musician and teacher Anastasia Virsaladze and the vast practical experience she got as an accompanist in the vocal as well as instrumental classes of the Tbilisi State Conservatory, provided the conditions for the development of her artistic originality and distinctive style of performance. The area of her improvisation is vast, starting from simple melodies of the post-war trophy films of the '50s, going forth to the music Nino Rota, specially created for Fellini`s films, from Chaplin to Dunaevsky, from the old Russian town romances to the brilliant musicals by Lehar and Frilm, to the music by Kancheli and Kvernadze... She plays waltz, foxtrot, rumba and tango with equal enthusiasm. In Nana Dimitriadi`s improvisation manner you will never come across any unexpected modulations, sudden changes of theme or tonal disharmony jarring to the ear. She is developed to beautiful harmonies, the balance of sound and moderation, because the performer presented hereby is chairman of the Department of accompaniment skills at Tbilisi State Conservatory, a person marked with academic taste and a keen scholar of classical music with significant scenic experience. Lamara Goglichidze Pianist NANA DIMITRIADI (June 15, 1932 - July 9, 2021) graduated from Vano Sarajishvili's Tbilisi State Conservatory in 1956. Since the same year, she was the concertmaster of the Tbilisi State Conservatory, teacher, docent since 1978, professor since 2006, and emeritus since 2010. She has been leading the direction of concertmasters for years. Ms. Nana has raised many generations of pianists and concertmasters. During her work, she played with the greatest musicians, including N. Anduladze, T. Gabarashvili, M. Amiranashvili, M. Iashvili, L. Isakadze's, Ts. Tatishvili, L.
