THE UNSF & GOHTEN SHIP SUITE THE WAR IN SPACE 1977 OST

Music by Toshiaki Tsushima Of all the space movies made by TOHO during the Showa era, this is the one I liked best, along with Gorath (1962). Although many criticize it for being a copy of Star Wars, it's excellent and a vestige of the Showa era. Despite being a successor to Gotengo, it's much more heavily armed than its predecessor, along with its other inclusions like the space fighters. Toshiaki did a great job with the soundtrack, ranging from funky tracks to more melancholic and militaristic ones. For this reason, along with Deathquake, I consider it one of my favorite films from this transitional period.
