The Veritas Lecture Series with Dr. Steven Paulson, Part 1 of 2
First Lutheran Church hosted its inaugural Veritas Lecture Series. For this series, prominent authors, artists, and musicians will share the human quest for truth (veritas) and address key issues of our time (Science & Religion, Music & its Culture, Religion & Politics). The 2018 series featured world-renowned Luther scholar, Dr. Steven Paulson, Chair of Theology at Luther House of Study in Sioux Falls (SD), and former professor at Luther Theological Seminary (St. Paul, MN) and Concordia College (Moorhead, MN). A prolific author and engaging lecturer, Dr. Paulson presented a paper in Wittenberg, Germany, at the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Dr. Paulson’s lectures focused on his new book, Luther’s Outlaw God (Fortress Press, 2018), addressing what Martin Luther calls the “two monsters” of theology: Evil and Predestination. This first of two videos was recorded on October 4, 2018.
