The Latvian National Guard
“If the war starts tomorrow, I’m going to my battalion immediately.” That’s the pledge of Jānis Leimanis, a member of the Latvian National Guard, which is marking its 25th anniversary this year. The guard is made up of around 9,000 volunteers who provide support to military operations and perform duties such as crisis response. We focus on two members – one who works as a veterinarian and another who works in medical services. ----- ----- SUBSCRIBE to NATO YouTube http://bit.ly/NATOsubscribe Connect with NATO online: Visit the Official NATO Homepage: http://bit.ly/NATOhomepage Find NATO on FACEBOOK: http://bit.ly/NATOfacebook Follow @NATO on TWITTER: http://bit.ly/NATOtwitter Find NATO on Google+: http://bit.ly/NATOgoogleplus Find NATO on LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/NATOlinkedin Find NATO on Flickr: http://bit.ly/NATOflickr
