New Dances: Edition 2022

Juilliard presents New Dances: Edition 2022, the centerpiece of the Dance Division’s performance season. Produced annually, New Dances features the world premieres of four new works by innovative choreographers, one for each class of Juilliard dancers, and every member of each class collaborates to create the finished piece. The 2022 choreographers are Chanel DaSilva, Sidra Bell, Jamar Roberts, Jermaine Maurice Spivey, and Spenser Theberge.   Featuring four world-premiere performances: “Another Mountain” by Chanel DaSilva (dancers from the class of 2026) “Yielding” by Sidra Bell (dancers from the class of 2025) “The Jaunt” by Jamar Roberts (dancers from the class of 2024) “The Close-ers” by Jermaine Maurice Spivey and Spenser Theberge (dancers from the class of 2023) The lighting design is by Clifton Taylor.
