MGT-XL (Stadler TINA) – Neue Straßenbahn in Halle (Saale) bei Fahrten auf der Linie 3

English subtitles available – In Halle an der Saale, the first new trams of the type Stadler TINA in the 5-sectional version come into service in autumn of 2025. The tram company HAVAG uses the type code MGT-XL for these vehicles. Not only vehicles with 5 but also with 3 sections will be delivered. The manufacture's name TINA is the abbreviation for Total Integrierter Niederflur-Antrieb (totally integrated low-floor drive). The Stadler trams will replace most of the older MGT6D trams in the future. HAVAG has about 60 MGT6D. Some of these will probably be sold to the city of Łódź in Poland. In this video you can watch scenes from a ride on line 3 from Marktplatz to Trotha. Passengers in the train complained that the seats are very narrow. Indeed they are 2 cm less wide than seats inside the MGT6D. People also criticized that smaller passengers cannot reach the handlebars. So far, no additional loop belts have been installed.
