The Gokyo Trek: Part 1/2 - Breathtaking Ama Dablam From Lukla to Ama Dablam Base Camp German Version:    • The Gokyo Trek - Part 1/2 - Amazing Ama Da...   This video shows our Gokyo Trek in Nepal and is intended as both a report and a travel guide for anyone who wants to hike this wonderful trail in Khumbu, Nepal's Everest region. It is the first part of a two-part series about our trek to the highest mountains in the world. At the end of October 2021, we boarded a tiny turboprop plane and flew from Kathmandu's domestic terminal to the infamous Lukla airfield—widely known as a stepping stone to Mount Everest and one of the most dangerous airports in the world. From there, we hiked down to the Dudh Koshi, the Milk River. We follow its valley up through charming villages such as Nurning, Phakding, Jorsale, and Monjo. We cross the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge and ascend to Namche Bazaar, often referred to as the capital of the Sherpa people, at an altitude of 3,500 meters. From there, we take a day trip to Khumjung and Khunde, marveling at mountains such as Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Mount Everest, as well as the only known Yeti scalp in the world. We climb to over 4,000 meters and make our way through the bush on the way back to our lodge. On the fourth day, we continue hiking to the famous Tengboche Monastery and finally to the village of Pangboche. Pangboche, located at approximately 4,000 meters, is our base camp for the day hike up to Ama Dablam Base Camp – a beautiful hike offering views of the Imja Valley, Tengboche Monastery, and mountains such as Lotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Mount Everest, Kongde Ri, Numbur, Thamserku, Kangtega, and many more, as well as Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
