While clearing the property I purchased I heard my new neighbor, a woman yelling at us to stop stealing property and claiming that we were squatting on the land. She also mentioned that she had looked it up and believed we didn’t own it, threatening to JAIL me for stealing my own land! I decided to approach the neighbors to discuss the situation. The woman continued yelling the same accusations while I spoke with the husband. The neighbors questioned, if the land was mine stating, “Why didn’t I informed them or asked for permission to be there?” I confirmed that it was indeed my land and that I had the deed to prove it. I felt it was necessary to show him the deed because the realtor had warned us that we might encounter people challenging omy ownership of the property.
