Cod Fishing on the UK South Coast has near as makes no difference ground to a halt. A codling catch report is seen as a major success with them being given the nickname "unicorn fish". Whilst we've stumbled across the odd few along the way, I've never caught a "proper" cod. Many consider to enter the realms of real cod fishing you need to beat the magical 6lb mark.
