And we continue teaching you how to plant black beans, also known as kidney beans or snap beans. In this third part, we'll explain what type of terrain is best for planting this legume. We'll also explain the yield of black bean seeds; that is, how many kilograms of beans can be produced from one kilogram of seed. Based on this same calculation, we'll tell you how many kilograms of seed you need to plant one hectare and how many kilograms of black beans you should be able to produce per hectare. Later, we'll explain why hilling is important when cultivating this legume and how this agricultural practice significantly benefits the plant and has a very important impact on the harvest. Our friend Jean Carlos Tovar (a farmer) will also show us how to hill up the plants, taking advantage of the process to manually control weeds without using chemical herbicides.
