Psalm 5 Lord, my King and my God, hear my words, listen to my groaning, listen to my pleas, for to you I lift up my prayer. Early in the morning you hear my voice; from the crack of dawn I lay my case before you, and wait expectantly for your answer. You are not a God who delights in evil; the wicked cannot dwell with you, nor is there room for the proud in your presence. You hate evildoers, you destroy liars and reject traitors and murderers. But I, because of your great love, can enter your temple; I can worship you with all reverence, looking toward your holy temple! Lord, because of my enemies, lead me in your righteousness, lead me in the right path. They never speak sincerely; they are corrupt within! Their throats are open graves; their tongues are liars! Punish them, O God! Blow up their schemes! Reject them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you. Let those who seek your protection rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, because you protect them.
