RTM deel 1 - Nederlands • Great Railways

Until 1966, the Rotterdam Tramway Company maintained an extensive meter-gauge network of steam and motor trams on the islands of Zeeland and South Holland. Fortunately, a large number of vehicles from the highly diverse fleet were saved. Until 1988, they stood in and around the former Hellevoetsluis tram station, running on a museum line several kilometers long, reconstructed by volunteers. Today, the RTM can be found in an area where trams once ran: the Brouwersdam near Port Zélande, where a completely new tram line with a station, depot, and workshop has been built. Part 1 - STEAM TRACTION The steam traction is largely depicted in the original 1929 RTM company film made by Willy Mullens. This truly fantastic film begins with a brief overview of the RTM's company history and the buildings currently in use. Furthermore, extensive attention is paid to passenger and freight traffic on the lines from Rotterdam to Zierikzee, Oostvoorne, and Flakkee by tram, bus, and boat, particularly livestock and general cargo transport. ------------- We will be uploading new videos every week, so please subscribe to our channel if you want to stay tuned!
