In this video, we analyze, using drone footage in Teresina, the possible extension of Avenida Padre Humberto Pietrogrande, a section that currently ends after the Anselmo Dias Bridge area and which could create a new connection towards Avenida Noé Mendes and Avenida São Francisco. 📍 WHAT IS BEING ANALYZED • Extension of Av. Padre Humberto Pietrogrande; • New access towards Av. Noé Mendes; • Connection with Av. São Francisco; • Integration with the Anselmo Dias Bridge; • Impact on mobility between the East, South, and Southeast zones of Teresina; • Relationship with the traffic flows that currently pass through BR-343 and Grande Dirceu. 🚗 WHY IS THIS PROJECT ATTRACTING ATTENTION? The region concentrates significant traffic flows, especially during peak hours. Those leaving the East Zone via Avenida Cajuína or the South Zone via Ponte Anselmo Dias, heading towards neighborhoods like Dirceu, Itararé, Novo Horizonte, Renascença, Redonda, São Sebastião, and Tancredo Neves, end up passing through traffic conflict points near BR-343. With the extension, the expectation is to create a new alternative circulation route, better distributing traffic and reducing some of the pressure on current access points from the Southeast Zone. 🌿 AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECT? Aerial images show that the possible route passes through a region near the Poti River, with dense vegetation, wetlands, and lagoons. Therefore, any future execution should consider technical studies, environmental licensing, drainage, erosion control, and measures to prevent sediment runoff into the river. The environmental analysis presented in the video is preliminary and based on features visible in drone images.
