May 26, 2023: St. Philip Neri, Catholic Missions in Canada, and Indigenous Voices of Faith

On this feast day of St. Philip Neri, Archbishop Gagnon reflects on his life and his patronage of missions in the Church. Tying to this, he talks about Catholic Missions in Canada and their work nationwide, including in our own diocese. He reflects on the life of Fr. Ken Barclay, whose funeral was celebrated on Tuesday, and about those pursuing the seminary and answering God’s call to the priesthood later in life. In March of this year, the Cardus Institute in Ottawa published a report titled “Indigenous Voices of Faith,” and Archbishop Gagnon tells us a bit about that and how we see those stories reflected in our faith community as well. See below for links and resources to items mentioned in this Friday Report. Thank you for your continued support!
