Taking a walk through the old town of Krems an der Donau in Austria on a Saturday morning. Most buildings in the city center are several hundred years old. Due to its close proximity to the famous Wachau Valley Krems an der Donau is a main tourist spot in Austria. Krems an der Donau is an old city, some buildings are over 1000 years old. It's also home to three universities and numerous churches. When visiting, make sure to visit the old town which has a very unique athmosphere and try some of the local food. Krems in Austria is also well known for it's excellent white wines Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Every year in autumn the city celebrates the Marillenfest, a festival to honour the harvest of apricots which are grown in many places around the city. Located right next to the Danube river, Krems an der Donau in Austria can be reached comfortably by ship.
