Dulaang UP's ATANG (Full Video)

ATANG was first produced for Dulaang UP's 33rd season, in 2008. Written by Floy Quintos , Directed by Alexander Cortez with Musical Direction by Von de Guzman, it was one show that brought together young audiences who wanted to learn about the legendary superstar of the Zarzuela , Film and Bodabil, as well as more mature audiences who came to relish the nostalgia. Billed as "Dulang May Musika" / A Play with Music, the show featured the kundiman hits that Atang Dela Rama popularized. Stellar performances from Shamaine Centenera - Buencamino and Frances Makil - Ignacio as Atang, as well as a career-defining performance from Ayen Munji - Laurel, made "Atang" an audience favorite. The show was revived with the same leading cast in 2009. Bituin Esalante appears as Katy dela Cruz, Teroy Guzman, Kalila Aguilos, Mitoy Sta. Ana, Ricky Ibe, Meynard Peñalosa, Richard Cunanan, Randy Concepcion, Greg de Leon, Jacinta Remulla, Sandino Martin and JC Santos are also included in the wonderful ensemble. Other members of the artistic team are Dexter M. Santos (Choreography), Anril Tiatco (Dramaturg), Tuxqs Rutaquio (Scenic & Costume Design), Eric Pineda (Costume Design), Luther Gumia (Lights Design), Cholo C.
