On 5/23/26 my family and I rode the opening day of steam season with the Arcade and Attica Railroad in Arcade, NY. The power was #18 Alco 2-8-0 Steam engine. It was a unseasonably cold day for this time of year. Temperature was around 45 degrees and prior to the excursion, it poured down with rain for quite some time. I videoed the passenger train cars along with some other things next to the A&A's garage to set up the scene for the day. Also, I took some videos inside the train depot. Then I videoed from inside our passenger car from the depot to about the fire station in Arcade. Then I videoed the run around of steam engine 18 at Currier's Station which is the halfway point of the excursion. The steam engine had to switch sides of the train consist to pull it back to Arcade. On the way back from Curriers to Arcade, my family and I rode the open car which was next to steam engine 18. I videoed the return trip which is about a 40-minute ride. Towards the beginning of the video, after I give a little dialog about the experience, I incorporated some music to some of the non-action shots of 18 prior to the excursion, as well as when I videoed in the depot. That was only for those parts though and not when the steam engine was moving. I wanted only the steam engine to be heard when it was moving. I hope you enjoy the video.
